Vojnović Winery

In the tourist offer of the Novi Sad area, Begeč is already known for the Nature Park “Begečka jama”, Čarda Kod Braše, Čarda na Jami, Cvejin salaš and more recently for Vojnović Winery (Vinarija Vojnović). It is a family winery founded in 2016 by Sava and Nina Vojnović with their daughters Tijana and Jelena. The Vojnovićis are not recent winemakers, because there is a long tradition of vineyards growing and wine production among the Vojnovićis from Srem, as well as among the Dalmatians from the vicinity of Šibenik, where Nina Vojnović comes from.

The trademark of the winery are the sails – the Pannonian as well as the Adriatic ones, but also a recognizable note of modernity, since the family winemaking tradition is today being introduced into new possibilities by the winemaker’s oenologist, Tijana Vojnović.

The Vojnovićis based their wine production on carefully nurtured vineyards in the vicinity of Ljuba and on the following grape assortment [1]: White Grašac, Rhine Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Muscat Hamburg. The following wines are offered: Vojnović Chardonnay, Vojnović Grašac Beli, Vojnović Rhine Riesling, Vojnović Lahor (Rose), Vojnović Cuvée (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) and Vojnović Puna Jedra (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Barique). These are quality wines created by careful selection of grape varieties, measured respect for modern trends and technologies in viticulture and winemaking and respect for tradition in a way that intrigues and wins the lovers of this divine drink with their wine properties.  It can be said that these are wines that testify to the balance between youth and experience, and new technologies and tradition, but also to the advantages of the Fruška Gora terroir that is felt in every glass of wine.

The quality of the wine of the Vojnović Winery is also recognized in the environment, as evidenced by the following awards: January International Wine Fair in Temerin, 2019 (big gold medal for Vojnović Puna Jedra 2017); Fruška Gora Wine Fair Inđija, 2019 (absolute winner for Vojnović Puna Jedra 2017); Rivica Wine Days, 2019 (the best white wine of the event for the Vojnović Chardonnay 2018) and Rivica Wine Days, 2021 (the best rose wine of the event for Vojnović Rose 2020).

The tasting room of the Vojnović Winery can accommodate up to ten people. Next to the winery in Begeč, there is a vineyard that makes the whole area feel like a pleasant place to enjoy the wines and the view that touches the grapevine from every angle. This open space, right next to the vineyard, can be a pleasant place for fifteen people.

The tourist programme includes a tour of the winery, presentation of wine with tasting and shopping, short hints about wine bon-ton, and snacks in-between the wines (selection of cheeses and cured meat products) or a fish pot.

The family is the starting and ending point that raises this winery to the map of the Pannonian wine trails with safe steps, and the plans that are being constructed in that safe shelter refer to the new tasting room and the ship that will be used to take the winery’s guests to a cruise along the Danube. Sailing is a synonym for an idea that sublimates the present and future times of the Vojnović family, because sailing is a must, so let it be with full sails.
