International Wine Festival Interfest
June 15 - June 17
Interfest is an international wine festival that promotes wine and wine culture, with a special emphasis on the wines of Vojvodina and Fruška Gora, as well as the Novi Sad Wine Route. From the very idea in 2003, when the modern Serbian wine scene was still in its infancy, the organizers decided that this festival would be of an international character and that from the beginning local wines would be put on scene along with wines from the region and the world. Over the years, Interest has grown into a significant economic and tourist event and has become one of the favourite events for the Novi Sad audience, as well as many tourists who have been visiting it for years. The long-standing tradition and quality of the festival itself contributed to the rise of wine culture in our country, but also to the tourist visibility of Novi Sad and Vojvodina on the map of Europe.
More than 100 exhibitors participate in the festival, as well as over 500 different wine labels, both recognizable and tested, as well as new editions. Traditionally, this festival promotes family wineries that nurture the stamp of the climate and vineyards of their region, but also wineries that have managed to grow into big and recognizable names on the Serbian and European scene. In addition to wine, distilleries from Serbia are also presented, as well as producers of other spirits and liqueurs. Quality drinks, accompanied by delicious snacks, primarily various cheeses, cured meat products, but also famous Vojvodina cakes and pastries.
This year, the international wine festival Interfest celebrates its 20th jubilee edition, and the organizers are announcing the grand opening at Liberty Square (Trg Slobode), with a few more surprises. In addition to the promotion and tasting, visitors can expect an interesting music program, and in the premises of the Tourism Organization of the City of Novi Sad, a retrospective exhibition of the 20th International Wine Festival Interfest, as well as workshops on current topics from viticulture and winemaking, led by wine experts.
