Novi Sad – a Modern City
February 12, 2022 - February 26, 2022
The multimedia exhibition ‘Novi Sad – a Modern City’ will be opened on the first floor of SPENS, in Hall 8 (entrance from Radnička Street), on 12 February. It will be organized by Baza: a platform for spatial practice in partnership with the Association of Novi Sad Architects (DANS) and the Ephemera Collective. The exhibition will explain all the key processes that created the modernity of Novi Sad, through clear and understandable stories followed by hitherto unseen, archival recordings of the construction of the city. On 12 February, within the first 24 hours from the opening, the audience will have the opportunity to see the exhibition with additional content in a unique and intense experience and get to know the space of SPENS in an unexpected way. This event includes the interpretation of digital archival material, which remains as a part of the project’s legacy, as well as a presentation of findings from workshops with international mentors from diverse disciplines, and site-specific creative interpretations of urban spaces that tell the story of Novi Sad’s modernization in the 20th century. The authors of the project are: Dragana Konstantinović, PhD, Slobodan Jović, Maja Momirov, Miljana Zeković, PhD, Višnja Žugić, PhD, and Bojan Stojkov.
