Night Hiking March on the Occasion of the Liberation Day of Novi Sad
To mark the Liberation Day of Novi Sad, the Mountaineer’s Association Poštar is organising the traditional Night Hiking March on the Occasion of the Liberation Day of Novi Sad. This is the 46th consecutive night hike, bringing together nature and recreation enthusiasts to celebrate this significant historical date through an active outdoor experience on Fruška Gora.
Route and Event Details
Participants will gather on Saturday, 7 November 2025. Departure is scheduled at 17:05 via GSP bus line No. 74 to Popovica. Participants can also arrive independently using their own transport. The official start of the event is at 18:00 in front of the Mountain Hut “Železničar” on Popovica, where all participants must fill out a registration form before setting off.
The route is circular, leading from Popovica via Vaga and Ledinačka Kapija to the Monument “Sloboda” on Iriški Venac, where a break for rest and refreshments is planned near the Arena Restaurant.
Return and Required Equipment
After hiking six kilometres and resting on Iriški Venac, the group will head back to Popovica, with arrival planned between 22:00 and 22:30. Return transport to Novi Sad is organised by bus at 22:50.
Participation requires autumn hiking gear, rain protection, and a mandatory torch, while trekking poles are recommended. The Night Hiking March on the Occasion of the Liberation Day of Novi Sad offers all participants a safe and organised night hike led by expert guides.
