“Mara Ognjanović Gift Collection” Exhibition
An Artistic Portrait of a Renowned Novi Sad Physician
The Gallery of Matica Srpska opens the doors to the intimate world of Dr Marija Mara Ognjanović, a prominent Novi Sad physician, senior consultant (primarius), and October Award laureate. This exhibition showcases her rich legacy – from personal belongings and family photographs to medical equipment and valuable works of fine and applied art.
The “Mara Ognjanović Gift Collection” exhibition offers visitors an insight into the civic spirit of Novi Sad through watercolours by Đorđe Tabaković, a portrait painted by Jovan Sevdić, and a unique bowl by René Lalique. As a permanent part of the national cultural heritage, this collection unites a humanitarian and medical vocation dedicated to children’s health with the refined artistic taste of its owner.
