Parallel Reality Exhibition
The art exhibition “Parallel Reality” by author Ranko Vukeljić will be hosted at the Museum of Vojvodina. Below are the words of the author:
“The world as we once knew it—bathed in sunlight, with clear rivers and swift brooks, springs, flowery meadows, and dense forests, blue hills and mountains, fertile crystalline plains, fish in the water and birds in the sky, surrounded by untold treasures in the woods and herds scattered across glades and endless pastures—was not enough for us to find happiness.
Seeking more, we take from everything we already have by overturning the earth, melting its depths, and moving mountains and rivers to make our hands stronger and our minds greater, yet again, we did not find happiness. Great knowledge gathered through time and the powerful media that transmit it cannot offer much help by presenting rules, laws, and dogmas.
However, not everything is one-sided or uniform. Throughout all ages, there has been wonderful evidence that we live in parallel realities, visible through the works of gifted individuals. With their work and talent, they offer a possible path to happiness, persistently being born into every generation regardless of the times or the attitudes of the environment from which they emerged. Connected to the primordial, they perceive and foresee through art, science, or spirituality, expressing themselves through forms, sound, voice, written and drawn messages, and colour.
Burdened by the present day and an ever-increasing emptiness that creeps in like mist, it is good to find time for oneself and witness this creativity by visiting art galleries and other temples of art, attending scientific lectures, and going to traditional gatherings where our customs are preserved, while using a good book to rescue oneself from self-oblivion.
Look at the walls of your own home every day and draw strength from the artworks that observe you. They enrich you with a value that creates a distance between you and those who have yet to discover the existence of a different reality—one where happiness has always existed and where everything is bathed in sunlight, with clear rivers and swift brooks, springs, flowery meadows, and dense forests, blue hills and mountains.”
