Festival of Folklore of Serbs from the Region

The Festival of Folklore of Serbs from the Region is a representative event that preserves and nurtures the intangible cultural heritage of Serbs from the region. The festival, of a review character, gathers a large number of cultural and artistic societies from Serbia, consisting of Serbs from the region. Through dance and song, they evoke memories and maintain the life thread with their homeland. The festival has a regional character, and in addition to cultural and artistic societies from Serbia, there are also those from Croatia, the Republika Srpska, and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as cultural and artistic societies from the countries of the region working on preserving the cultural heritage of Serbs in the region. Across Serbia, especially in Vojvodina, a large number of cultural and artistic societies and singing groups actively work to preserve the gems of Serbian originality. This festival is of exceptional importance for preserving Serbian cultural heritage, both for Serbs from the region and for Serbs in Serbia. The event has significant importance for the community, as it encourages the preservation and transmission of knowledge about elements of the intangible cultural heritage of Serbs and demonstrates the unity and indivisibility of the Serbian people.
