European SAMBO Championships for Youth and Juniors 2026

From 21 to 23 April, the City of Novi Sad will become the European epicentre of martial arts. The SPENS (Sports and Business Centre Vojvodina) will host the European SAMBO Championships for Youth and Juniors 2026, jointly organised by the European Sambo Federation and the Sambo Federation of Serbia. Approximately 500 competitors from 25 countries are expected to participate, accompanied by nearly 200 officials, ranking this event among the most significant youth sporting manifestations on the continent this year.
Programme Updates and the ‘Combat SAMBO’ Discipline
The competition programme features intensive bouts in the “Sport SAMBO” and “Combat SAMBO” disciplines across various weight categories. This year’s championship is particularly significant as “Combat SAMBO” has been officially included in the junior male division for the first time. This decision reflects the growing global interest in the discipline and adds a new competitive dimension at the European level, offering the audience a chance to witness the latest combat techniques.
International Significance and the Future of Sport
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 21 April, featuring the youngest participants in the youth categories. Beyond the quest for medals following Olympic principles, the European SAMBO Championships for Youth and Juniors 2026 serves as a vital platform for the development of athletes who will shape the sport globally in the coming years. The event is being organised in strict compliance with anti-doping regulations and international standards, once again confirming Novi Sad’s status as an exceptional host of major competitions.
