Costumes, jewellery and headstall festival “Pearl Branch”

The festival gathers and connects cultural-artistic associations, and local and regional institutions and individuals around a single topic – national costume. The main objective of the festival is to present folklore treasure of our country as well as the countries of the region, emphasise the importance of preservation of the material folklore heritage as an important property of cultural identity of every nation – original costumes and headstalls, authentic materials, manufacture techniques and costume forms as well to present old technologies in textile production and costume making and point to the necessity of making new costumes – copies that resemble to the original ones as far as possible. The festival programme consists of the participants’ parade along the centre of Novi Sad, costumes show, concert and exhibitions.
