Čarde i Bande

Tradition and Gastronomy on the Banks of the Danube
The Čarde i Bande festival is a unique open-air event that brings together lovers of fish soup and traditional music over two days in October. Held on Sunčani Kej, opposite the Army Hall, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy culinary specialties prepared by renowned čarde (traditional riverside restaurants) from Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia. This festival successfully bridges the Danube’s cultural heritage and the region’s rich gastronomic offer.
Authentic Tamburica Sounds and a Two-Day Programme
Alongside top-tier food, performances by renowned tamburica (traditional string instrument) bands from Novi Sad and the surrounding area hold a special place in the programme. The sounds of the tamburica enhance the atmosphere by the river and contribute to a unique experience for all domestic and foreign tourists. The Čarde i Bande festival programme takes place on both days from 12:00 to 18:00, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy views of the Danube and quality content.
