“Biserna Grana” Costume, Jewellery and Headwear Festival
The “Biserna Grana” Costume, Jewellery and Headwear Festival is a major cultural event dedicated to preserving the tangible folklore heritage of Serbia and the region. Organised by the “Mladost” Cultural Centre from Futog since 2008, the festival brings together cultural and artistic societies, experts, and collectors to showcase traditional folk creativity and safeguard cultural identity.
Preserving Traditional Heritage and a Rich Programme
The festival programme features a traditional parade of participants through the centre of Novi Sad, alongside exhibitions, expert lectures, and concerts. A special focus is placed on authentic materials, traditional textile crafting techniques, and the promotion of faithfully crafted replicas of historical costumes. The highlight of the festival is a gala showcase at the Serbian National Theatre. In doing so, the “Biserna Grana” Costume, Jewellery and Headwear Festival successfully bridges professional expertise with the beauty of folk tradition.
