4 Krajcare

Tradition and Contemporary Creativity
The second edition of the 4 Krajcare Festival showcases the tangible and intangible heritage of the Almaški Kraj (Almaški Quarter) through a harmonious fusion of history and art. The event is organised by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Novi Sad in collaboration with its partners. The festival opens at the “Svilara” Cultural Station with an interactive exhibition, “Heart of the City: The Almaški Quarter Restoration Project”, where visitors can explore reconstruction plans using VR technology and immersive sound installations.
Significant Anniversaries and Living Heritage
The 4 Krajcare Festival programme marks three major milestones: two centuries of Matica Srpska, 300 years since the birth of Zaharije Orfelin, and the 50th anniversary of Vojvodina’s first radio drama. Featuring rock covers of Orfelin’s poetry performed by the Svetozar Marković Grammar School band, cultural heritage gains a contemporary expression, seamlessly connecting tradition with the creativity of new generations.
