Petrović Wine Cellar

Petrović Wine Cellar (Podrum Petrović) is a family winery in Karlovačkog mira Street, located opposite the Chapel of Peace – a monument erected in honour of peace. If it is true that there is no coincidence, then in the case of the Petrović family, peace is the realization of those aspirations they were longing for when leaving Croatia in the 1990s.

With the house in Sremski Karlovci, where they are still today, they took over the vineyard, and since then their story is about the victory of love, kindness and solidarity over the meaninglessness of war and hatred. Milan Petrović, the owner and founder of the winery, and in the 1990s the youngest winemaker in Sremski Karlovci, was helped by the famous winegrower and winemaker Radmilo Dimitrijević and the doyens of our winemaking science Petar Cindrić and Vlada Kovač.

The result of the co-operation is the fact that the wines of the Petrović Wine Cellar have an excellent reputation, and can be found in the most famous restaurants and farms in the Novi Sad area and beyond. I can testify that the white wines of the Petrović Wine Cellar are often my choice, especially when during the great heat in the early afternoon I escape from the heat with my friends in the shade of one of the many Novi Sad passages.

The vineyards of this winery are located on the stretches in the direction of Banstol, and the assortment of grapes[1] on which the production is based consists of: Italian Riesling, Sila, Chardonnay, Traminac, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Probus. The wines on offer are: Sila, Italian Riesling, Chardonnay, Traminac, Rose, Merlot, Probus, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bermet (red). These are dry wines (except Bermet), pure varietal wine, those that have all the best properties of Fruška Gora terroir, where white wines exude freshness and optimal acidity, and red wines contain anthocyanins and tannins, the amount of which varies depending on the year.

For the family Petrović, the salvation is in wine, first because it erases all boundaries between people since it brings beauty and enjoyment, and then because it is a job they do with love. The wine tasting hall of the Petrović Wine Cellar is in the final phase, but even now it is not an obstacle for them to receive a maximum of twenty-five people with prior notice, who will buy the wines that suit them after the tasting. Snacks for the separation of wine are also a matter of agreement, but the kindness and helpfulness of Petrovićs is a constant that, along with the quality of the wine, keeps the door of their yard always open.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 08:00 a.m. – 08:00 p.m. Announcement is mandatory for group visits.
