Ačanski Wine Cellar (Podrum Ačanski) was founded by Jovan Ačanski in the 1990s, and now, continuing the family tradition, it is run by his daughter, Jelena Lalović. The love for the family, as well as the love for wines, is a source of strength here that unites and radiates in every detail: from the wine sip to the atmosphere that welcomes guests. Everything in this place is worthwhile, simple and unadulterated.
The wines of the Ačanski Wine Cellar begin their life in a nearby vineyard, and are based on the following grape assortment[1]: Italian Riesling, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Frankovka, Muscat Hamburg and Merlot. Ačanski Wine Cellar is known for Muscat Ottonel, a variety that is rarely grown in the Fruška Gora region. The following wines are on offer: Ačanski Italian Riesling, Ačanski Chardonnay, Ačanski Muscat Ottonel, Ačanski Muscat Hamburg, Ačanski Frankovka, Ačanski Merlot, and Ačanski Bermet, Ačanski Rose Frankovka and Ačanski Sangria.
Among the awards that the wines of this house received were those from the 2nd Fruška Gora Wine Festival held in Inđija in 2019, when Ačanski Muscat Ottonel (vintage 2017) was declared the best wine of the Festival and when the same wine as well as Ačanski Italian Riesling were awarded gold medals.
At the Grand Wine Evaluation of Serbia in 2021, the wines of the Ačanski Wine Cellar won the following awards: in the category “White still wines from local non-aromatic varieties” (bronze for Ačanski Italian Riesling 2020); in the category “White still wines of international non-aromatic varieties” (silver for Ačanski Chardonnay 2020); in the category “Still wines from local and international aromatic varieties” (silver for Ačanski Muscat Ottonel 2020).
These are high-quality and pure-variety wines, made from cultivated grapes from their own vineyard, the quality of which is dedicatedly controlled. The secret is in the life philosophy of “live and love” which permeates the private and public milieu of the Ačanski-Lalović family, and which in everyday life means loving what you do. The wines of this house testify to the same, but also the space where guests are welcomed.
The Wine Tasting Room, which can accommodate up to fifty people, is above the Danube, which not only heats the vineyards of Banoštor with its reflection but also gives a unique charm to the enjoyment of wines. The programme for tourists is original. In addition to the usual tasting of three types of wine, each visitor can try wine of any label in the cellar of the winery. For pre-arranged groups, it is possible to organize wine snacks or lunch, most often goulash and barbecue. If you are coming from the direction of Novi Sad, Ačanski Wine Cellar will be your first stop along the Banoštor trail of wine pleasures.
Opening hours: Monday o Saturday 09:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m., Sundays are only fro the announced groups. Announcement is mandatory for group visits.
