Novi Sad Records Outstanding Results: A Highly Successful First Half of 2026

Tourism trends show that Novi Sad continues to be an increasingly attractive destination. Between January and June 2026, a total of 108,021 tourists visited our city, marking a significant growth of 12.5% compared to the same period last year. Particularly encouraging is the fact that the number of domestic guests rose by as much as 17.2%, while foreign tourist arrivals increased by 9.8%.

The total number of overnight stays reached 268,421, representing a steady growth of 4.7%. Domestic tourists accounted for 76,545 overnight stays (an 18.4% increase), while foreign visitors maintained a consistent figure of over 191 thousand overnight stays. Novi Sad welcomed tourists from as many as 147 countries worldwide, with the highest number of arrivals and overnight stays recorded from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Russian Federation, Croatia, Turkey, Slovenia, and Romania. Nearly all leading source markets are experiencing a positive trend and growth in visits.

Confirming that Novi Sad is gaining popularity on Europe’s nautical map as well, 174 cruise ships docked at the passenger pier, disembarking over 25,000 passengers. This represents a 9.43% increase in ship dockings and a 12.24% rise in passenger numbers compared to last year.

The Tourist Information Centre of the Tourism Organisation of the City of Novi Sad also recorded heightened activity. A total of 4,779 tourists from 65 countries sought information and promotional materials, with visitors from Russia, Germany, Spain, Turkey, and Great Britain leading the way.

These outstanding results confirm that Novi Sad is not merely a transit destination, but a city with a distinctive energy and unique charm to which tourists from around the globe eagerly return. The combination of rich cultural heritage, its trademark laid-back pace, and a diverse tourism offer makes our city a powerful magnet for visitors.

The Tourism Organisation of the City of Novi Sad will continue its dedicated efforts to enhance and promote tourism products, aiming to successfully sustain this positive momentum throughout the second half of the year.
