Russian Culture Days in Novi Sad

March 30 - April 3

Novi Sad is once again becoming a hub of significant international cooperation through the traditional festival Russian Culture Days in Novi Sad. This event, which has been held successfully since 2012, has grown into a renowned occasion that links the cultural, educational, and social initiatives of the Russian people with the local community and partners from abroad.

Historical Heritage and Artistic Expression at the Opening Ceremony

This year’s edition of the festival Russian Culture Days in Novi Sad is thematically framed by the exhibition “Russian Heroes of the European Resistance (1939–1945)”, which highlights the role of Russian emigrants in the anti-fascist struggle across the former Yugoslavia. The grand opening of the festival is scheduled for Monday, 30 March 2026, at 1:00 p.m., alongside the opening of the “Russian Kokoshniks” exhibition. The artistic segment of the ceremony will feature performances by soprano Vasja Popović, accompanied by Darja Samofalova on piano, the “Elmazi” piano duo, as well as recitations of poetry by Anna Akhmatova and Mikhail Lermontov by students from the Faculty of Philosophy.

A Diverse Festival Programme for All Generations

During the five-day event, the audience in Novi Sad will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of content. The academic segment includes the International Conference on Russian Women’s Associations in Emigration (31 March at 11:00 a.m.) and the promotion of the book “Russian Sacred Sites in Serbia”. For younger visitors, screenings of cult animated films with Serbian subtitles are organised daily at 6:00 p.m., while 1 and 2 April will be dedicated to art therapy workshops and promotions of children’s literature. The festival will officially conclude on Friday, 3 April, with a grand concert at 5:00 p.m. featuring the “Nasleđe” Chamber Choir, the “St. Basil of Ostrog” Choir, and the “Mon Mirage” studio.
