Free walking tours “Discover Novi Sad”

The Association of Tourist Guides of Novi Sad, with the assistance of the City Department for Economy, organizes free of charge the tours entitled “Discover Novi Sad” and “Discover Petrovaradin Fortress” from July to October this year. Sightseeing tours for tourists are organized on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, in Serbian and in English. On Wednesdays and Fridays, starting from 05 PM, all those who are interested may take a walk along the city centre of Novi Sad and hear interesting stories and anecdotes connected with this part of the city, while on Saturdays, starting from 10 AM, a tour is scheduled of one of the most complex, largest and best preserved fortifications in Europe. It is planned for all the tours to last from an hour to hour and a half and the maximum number of people per group is 20.

Departure is planned from the Tourism Organization of the City of Novi Sad (Trg slobode). We will see the most important buildings on the main square: City Hall, Vojvodina Hotel, Vojvodina Bank Building (former Grand Mayer Hotel), Roman Catholic Parish Church of “The Name of Mary”, Tanurdzic’s Palace, etc. We continue walking through Zmaj Jovina Street where the stop at Zmaj’s monument is planned. We will visit the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. George. We continue our walk through the Danube Street and the Danube Park with roadside stops all the way to the Danube Quay, where we will complete this tour with the story of the Novi Sad bridges and the Danube.
