Exhibition “Drawings Travel Through Time”

The multimedia interactive exhibition of children and youth drawings “Drawings Travel Through Time” will be opened on 28 April in the Creative District and will run until 15 May. The exhibition rests on archival material collected since 1952 when the European Coal and Steel Community was founded and became the forerunner of today’s European Union. To enable cultural exchange between children and youth and to encourage talks about the future of Europe, it is necessary to reflect on the past and keep in mind what it brings along. The exhibition presents the retrospective development of children and youth and their perspectives concerning different dominant social and cultural values and trends. A chronological display of the development of the children’s and youth’s drawings and their perception of the world, based on the richest collection of children and youth works in Europe, will be presented through a time machine.

The Centre for Art Education of Children and Youth of Vojvodina is one of the oldest associations for art creations of children and youth, founded in Novi Sad in 1954 and is the only Novi Sad association that has lasted for 67 years to this day. The centre boasts of a rich collection of artworks performed by children and youth of about 20,000 works from 110 countries. It is the richest collection of children’s and youth works in Europe.
