Contemporary German Cinema

A Series of Cinematic Masterpieces at SKCNS
The film programme Contemporary German Cinema features three stylistically diverse works that uniquely illuminate modern society and the position of the individual within it. All screenings are scheduled for 7 pm and provide an insightful look into relevant trends in European cinematography.
Film Repertoire and the Exploration of Urban Space
The cycle opens on 20 April with the film The Golden Glove, which analyses complex social margins and issues of dehumanisation. On the following day, 21 April, the repertoire features Victoria, a work renowned for being shot in a single continuous take, capturing the pulse of the city and a generation living in the moment. The series concludes on 22 April with Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days, offering a quiet, contemplative counterpoint—a poetic meditation on everyday life, rituals, and the beauty of small things. In all selected works, the city functions as an active participant and a mirror to the protagonists’ inner states.
Contemporary German Cinema offers the Novi Sad audience a wide range of poetics and themes—from raw realism to minimalist lyricism. All films are subtitled in Serbian, allowing visitors to explore the depths of human experience and contemporary cinematic expression through various directorial voices.
