Since 2005, the Puppetry Festival of Elementary Schools has been held in Novi Sad as the republic and international review of the best elementary school puppetry groups and authorial puppet theatres and puppet theatre texts of teachers. Exhibitions and lectures are organised along with puppet shows. The event is aimed at exchange of experiences and spreading of puppetry culture, presenting the most successful teachers and pupils puppeteers with a large media attention for the sake of fostering of further development of school puppeteering. Due to its significance, the Festival is included in the Calendar of reviews and competitions of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia.
