In the heart of Novi Sad, one of the most important sports and cultural centres of Serbia, there is a symbol of tradition, pride and identity – the Sports Society of Vojvodina. From 1914 until today, Vojvodina is not only a club, but a philosophy of life, community and eternal love. Today, more than ever, Vojvodina is a club that is loved.

Vojvodina Football Club was founded in March 1914 in Novi Sad, by students of the Great Serbian Orthodox Gymnasium. The decision to establish FC Vojvodina was the desire of Serbian youth in Novi Sad to get their own sports club around which they would gather. The new club wore the colours of freedom – red and white – and was a gathering place for young idealists. The first victory in history was recorded against the Šajkaš Football Club from Kovilj, and it ended with a score of 5:0.

Through the decades, FC Vojvodina, with its won national titles in 1966 and 1989, performances in Europe and continuous presence among the best, became a pillar of Yugoslav and Serbian football. The club gave a large number of national team members and spawned legends such as Ilija Pantelić and Vujadin Boškov.

FC Vojvodina owns a digital museum of trophies won in the rich history of this club. So far, the “Old Lady” has won over 600 cups, of which 61 trophies have been digitised and divided into three categories – north, east and west, which symbolise the stands of the stadium. Going to one of the virtual stands on www.fkvojvodinamuzej.rs allows access to the cups in 3D.

In addition to the successes recorded by the Football Club, other sports clubs, which bear the word Vojvodina in their name, have a rich sports history and tradition of winning trophies.

Vojvodina Volleyball Club has the largest collection of trophies among all the volleyball clubs of Serbia. Its dominance has lasted for decades and includes a record number of national championships won, as well as national cups. The club is a regular participant in the most prestigious European competitions, such as the Champions League, and the biggest European success of the club is winning the CEV Challenge Cup in the 2014/2015 season.

Vojvodina Handball Club is one of the most successful Serbian clubs and a true giant on the domestic scene. The club holds a historical record for the number of consecutive titles won in Serbian handball, and the greatest success was achieved in the 2022/2023 season, when the triple crown was won: the title of the National Champion, the Serbian Cup and the first European Trophy – the European Cup (EHF European Cup). This success confirmed the status of the Vojvodina Handball Club as the most successful club in the recent history of Serbian handball.

In addition to handball players and volleyball players, other clubs have also been successful. Hockey players are perennially in the fight for the top of the domestic championship, and wrestlers, athletes and water polo players regularly win medals and titles at the highest level. Basketball Club, Table Tennis Club, Judo Club, Swimming Club, Aikido Club and many others also contribute to the rich sports heritage of Novi Sad.
