December 31, 2025

During 2025, the Tourist Organization of Novi Sad carried out a series of activities aimed at promoting the city and strengthening its position in both the domestic and international tourism markets, in a year that was unique and full of challenges.

According to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, a total of 191,432 tourists stayed in the City of Novi Sad between January and November 2025. In the same period, a total of 498,705 overnight stays were recorded.

To enhance the visibility of Novi Sad as an attractive tourist destination, the city participated in major domestic and international tourism fairs, including Vienna, Sofia, Berlin, Ljubljana, Zagreb, London, and Thessaloniki. These events enabled direct contact with the tourism industry, partners, and potential visitors, while presenting the city’s diverse offerings.

Within its publishing activities, two new publications were prepared and released – “Novi Sad, City of Sports and Recreation”, focusing on sports tourism, and “Green Novi Sad”, both aimed at introducing visitors and residents to activities that promote active leisure and a high quality of life in the city.

This year, special attention was given to supporting major events, congresses, and activities of importance for tourism development, further enhancing Novi Sad’s recognition as a center of cultural, business, and sports events. In this context, numerous domestic and international media representatives and journalists were hosted to present the city’s tourism offer as authentically as possible and to stimulate interest among potential visitors.

The year also saw thematic promotional campaigns dedicated to the Almaški district, one of the oldest and most authentic parts of the city, as well as the process of accrediting Novi Sad as a city of wetlands, highlighting its commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of natural heritage.

As part of the “City Network” project, Novi Sad showcased its offerings and brought all the city’s attractions closer to the citizens of Tuzla, with a focus on the wineries of the Novi Sad Wine Route. Throughout the year, numerous delegations from Spain, Montenegro and Macedonia were also welcomed.

In 2026, Novi Sad will hold the prestigious title of European City of Sport, recognizing long-term investments in sports, sports infrastructure, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. This title confirms that sports in Novi Sad are accessible to all generations – from children and youth to recreational and professional athletes.

Tourist interest in Novi Sad during 2025 remained satisfactory, considering the complex circumstances in which the tourism sector operated. These results provide a strong foundation for further enhancing the city’s tourism offer and continuing the development of Novi Sad as an attractive and sustainable tourist destination.
