Recreational activities on the water
The Danube is an ideal environment for a wide range of recreational water activities. Whether rowing, sailing, fishing or some other form of recreation, the river offers exceptional opportunities for an active holiday. The organisation of these activities is most often taken over by specialised sports associations, nautical clubs, and tourist agencies, making recreation on the Danube accessible to all.
Recreational kayaking
The Pedaleros organisation offers kayaking tours of the Special Nature Reserve Koviljsko-Petrovaradinski Rit, the Rakovački Dunavac and other destinations on the Danube. In addition, it organises catamaran sailing, team building programmes and workshops.

Recreational fishing
The DTD canal is a popular fishing area, and this is evidenced by the World Feeder Championship that was held there. Begečka Jama is also a famous fishing destination. The public water management company Vode Vojvodine has been assigned to manage the Danube River, from the bridge near Bačka Palanka to the bridge near Beška, and is therefore the first address for obtaining licenses for recreational fishing. Daily and annual permits for recreational fishing on the Danube and in the protected area of the Begečka Jama Nature Park, except at the Vode Vojvodine, can also be purchased from the fish warden at the site.

One of the most famous fishing destinations in Novi Sad is the Special Nature Reserve Koviljsko-Petrovaradinski Rit. Most of the fishing is done at the localities of Arkanj, Šlajz and Tikvara, and the fish stock here includes carp, pike, silver carp, bream, as well as other species of fish. Daily or annual fishing licenses are obtained at the address of the Kovilj Forest Administration or with the fish warden. At the same address you can find the Eco Center of Kovilj JP Vojvodina Šume, the custodian of the Special Nature Reserve Koviljsko-Petrovaradinski Rit. With prior notice, they organise numerous eco-tourist programmes for visitors: motorboat rides, walking tours of the reserve and ecological classrooms.

Within JP National Park Fruška Gora RJ Ribarstvo, one-day, multi-day and annual fishing licenses are issued for recreational fishing on lakes Moharač, Bruje and Sot. Lakes are abundant in the following fish species: carp, bream, common rudd, common carp, grass carp, catfish, pike, roach, tench and others.
