DESCRIPTION:“Tour de Fruška” is an event designed for all cycling enthusiasts\, recreational activities\, and nature lovers. In addition to the spring edition\, it also has its autumn version. The first day of the event is dedicated to trail runners\, who have the opportunity to compete on one of two trails\, 7 and 15 kilometers long. For the youngest athletes and recreational participants\, there are “kids trail” races in four age categories from 4 to 12 years of age. SUMMARY:The Kaleidoscope of Culture
DESCRIPTION:The Kaleidoscope of Culture is a yearlong project of culture of togetherness\, which through different processes connects artists\, cultural institutions\, non-governmental organisations\, citizens\, and tourists\, in order to present places and programmes across the city\, promoting a unique\, distinct image of Novi Sad by the end of summer. Novi Sad becomes a city-scene in which everyone is given the opportunity to create their own kaleidoscope of culture regarding architecture\, literature\, performing\, visual and applied arts\, during all five weeks of the programme. \nKorzo (September 5th) \nThe festival will start with a grand opening on Korzo\, featuring Lana Zorjan\, this year’s recipient of the prestigious Classical Music Award – Discovery Award\, alongside conductor\, composer\, and pianist Maximilian Haberstock and the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra. On September 5th\, they will captivate the audience with classical music\, temporarily halting traffic on one of Novi Sad’s boulevards – Mihajlo Pupin Boulevard. \nApplied Arts Week (September 6th to 12th) \nThe first week of the Kaleidoscope of culture is in the context of applied art. More than 90 artists will present their work through 10 exhibitions and 7 music programs\, along with fashion shows\, performances\, and workshops. Featured names include Andrew Melchior\, whose work is associated with world-famous figures like Björk and David Bowie\, and Andrew Jones\, a collaborator with global stars such as Naomi Campbell\, Gwyneth Paltrow\, and Diana Ross. \nLiterature Week (September 13th to 19th) \nThe Kaleidoscope of Culture presents the Tišma Pavilion\, a unique new media event that will transform the District into a large open-air museum dedicated to Aleksandar Tišma on September 13th and 14th. Visitors of the Tišma Pavilion will have the opportunity to explore exhibitions\, attend performances\, participate in discussions with award-winning authors\, visit a book fair and exchange\, and enjoy many other engaging programs.  \nPerforming Arts Week (September 20th to 26th) \nOne of today’s most prominent trumpet players\, Ibrahim Maalouf\, is coming to Kaleidoscope of Culture. The French-Lebanese instrumentalist and composer blends classical music\, jazz\, and Middle Eastern sounds\, bridging both genre and geographical distances. This performance presents a rare opportunity to experience the mastery of Ibrahim Maalouf live. We invite you not to miss his concert in the District on September 21st as part of the Kaleidoscope of Culture Performing Arts Week. \nArchitecture Week (September 27th to October 3rd) \nPritzker Prize winner Riken Yamamoto is coming to this year’s Kaleidoscope of Culture on September 28th. He has been honoured with this prestigious award for his projects that establish a “Threshold” space\, which lies between the public and private realms\, fostering communities and serving as a bridge for people. Some of his notable works include Nagoya Zokei University of Art and Design\, the Circle at Zürich Airport\, Yokosuka Museum of Art\, Future University Hakodate\, Saitama Prefectural University and Gazebo. He has also undertaken projects for mixed-use facilities\, public buildings\, and residential complexes in China\, South Korea\, and Taiwan. \nVisual Arts Week (October 4th to 5th)  \nThe exhibition “Darkest Wave” will be opened in the District on October 4th and 5th\, as part of Visual Arts Week during the Kaleidoscope of Culture. This event offers a retrospective of the works of the most significant directors of this period\, including Dušan Makavejev\, Aleksandar Petrović\, Živojin Pavlović\, Lazar Stojanović. The program includes spatial video installations in the exhibition space that will illuminate the key themes and aesthetics of the “Black Wave” through innovative presentations and film screenings where selected films will be shown in their entirety\, followed by panel discussions with experts. SUMMARY:21114 – Film fest
DESCRIPTION:The festival was first held in 2015. Its neighbourly charm attracted an enviable number of visitors\, mainly young people from the neighbourhood. Each passing year and new edition proves the Festival is on the way to outgrowing its local character. Five years into its existence\, the Festival at the edge of the city screens the latest movies from the region\, often chosen by citizens\, hosts film workers and other festivals\, founds its own club and invites authors from the Former Yugoslavia region to submit their short films and documentaries\, for which the audience awards the Golden Cork.  \nThe films are screened in different cinemas. New spaces are tried out and new locations explored. The main “movie theatre” is static. It is set up at the same place each year – the location of the future Cultural Centre. What changes is its capacity. From 500 to 1000 people enjoys feature films under open sky on summer evenings. The other cinemas are in the playground of Vendi kindergarten\, in the Blue conference room of Milan Petrović School\, and on the lawns between apartment blocks. SUMMARY:A conscious abandonment of reality: Sava Sekulić i Ilija Bosilj
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition A conscious abandonment of reality: Sava Sekulić i Ilija Bosilj presents 67 works of these two artists from different museum collections\, and is accompanied by two documentary films: the film about Ilija Bosilj is the work of director Žika Mitrović and was produced by Centarfilm\, while the film about Sava Sekulić is directed by Slobodan Pešić also offers segments of conversations with the artist himself. The exhibition is complemented by documentation\, including a letter from Jean Dibiffe about Ilija’s art\, written when Dibiffe included it in his collection (which today forms the Collection dell’Art Brut in Lausanne). Considering the importance of the artistic works that are exhibited\, because they are two of the most internationally recognized authors from the domain of raw art\, but also about works that from the very beginning move in the border area of ​​contemporary and art brut\, the exhibition also has a certain theoretical artistic aspect that contributes to its importance. \nIlija Bašičević Bosilj (1895–1972) is one of the most internationally recognized authors of unconventional art. During his lifetime\, his works visited the galleries and museums of almost all major cities in Western Europe\, then America\, China\, and Japan\, everywhere creating a unanimous impression that this is authentic art\, which cannot be found anywhere else. \nSava Sekulić (1902–1989)\, also received international recognition quite early\, and Mića Popović and Leonid Šejka spoke extremely positively about his art during his lifetime. This cycling movement originated in San Francisco in 1992 and has since spread worldwide. The first ride in Novi Sad took place on April 27\, 2012.
