World challenge in border cross mountain skateboard

31.Aug-1.Sep

Mountain skateboard (mountainboard) emerged by the mid 1990s as the result of the desire of snowboard riders to extend the riding season. The combination of snow and skateboard resulted with first mountainboards that could be used to ride along downhill slopes irrespective of the terrain, i.e. whether it is the matter of grassy, stone or earth ground. The track at Bukovac, namely the “Park of Alternative Sports” is located above the village in the vicinity of a demolished military structure, at Selište, and it is considered one of the fastest and most difficult ones. Due to its length of 700 meters and attractiveness it is one of the leading tracks in the world. The first day is planned for training rides and qualification races (from 12.00 to 04.00 p.m.). The main programme will be held on Saturday – elimination races of four riders at the same time with first two qualifying for the next round. The programme plans for consecutive races in men’s, women’s, master and junior categories all up to the finals when we will get the winners in these categories. A promotional competition in free style will follow after a short break as the opportunity for competitors to show their skills in jumping from a large jumping platform.

Venue: Fruška Gora at Bukovac
