“Zlatá Brána” Children’s Folklore Festival

22.Jun-24.Jun

“Zlatá Brána” Children’s Folklore Festival is the festival of the Slovak national minority living in Vojvodina. The Festival gathers around 1,300 children (from pre-school to the age of 15) from the entire Vojvodina and guest ensembles from Slovakia and Croatia. The Festival is held in the yard of the Elementary School “Ljudovit Štur” in Kisač where they set an amphitheatre, the festival castle. The role of the “Zlatá Brána” Children’s Folklore Festival is primarily in creating the conditions for musical and dancing expression of children who become faithful mediators of messages from the close and distant past of the Slovaks from the so-called Lower Earth by cherishing the elements of the Slovak national culture. Establishing of these firm ties of children with their own tradition most certainly provides the awareness of belonging to a developed culture, which is a sound basis of any identity.
