Novi Sad from a women’s angle

You will learn about: alternative, but not less valuable history of the City through the story of famous women, while walking along with the space next to houses they lived in.

Walking tour through the old core of Novi Sad

Meeting point: Liberty Square – in front of the Svetozar Miletić monument
Departure is planned from Freedom Square (Trg Slobode) near the monument of Svetozar Miletić, where also a short stay is planned. We will see the most important buildings on the Freedom Square: City Hall, Vojvodina Hotel,  Vojvodina Bank  Building (former Grand Mayer Hotel), Church of the Names of Mary, Tanurdzic’s Palace, etc. We continue walking through Zmaj Jovina Street where the stopping at Zmaj’s monument is planned. We will visit the Saint George Cathedral. We continue our walk through the Danube Street and the Danube Park with roadside stops all the way to the Danube Quay where we will complete this tour with the story of the Novi Sad bridges and the Danube.

Petrovaradin fortress with a visit to Lower town

Meeting point: In front of the main entrance to the Military Hospital in Petrovaradin
Meeting place is  in front of the main entrance to the Military Hospital in Petrovaradin. First we will visit Lower town , where we will see some buildings that used to be for years as a logistics of the once famous fortress (the Military Hospital, the main Maltarnica, the barracks of the Šajka battalion, the Old Arsenal, the City hall in Petrovaradin, the birthplace of the Croatian Ban Josip Jelačić etc. We will also see two churches – the Orthodox Saint Paul and the Catholic Church of St. George. After that, we will walk through the Petrovaradin Fortress and get acquainted with several important locations on the Fortress Long  barracks, Arsenal or Mamula  barracks, Karl VI Gate, Lepold’s Gate, an Officer pavilion, etc. We will finish our tour at the Clock Tower on the Petrovaradin Fortress.
